  • Southbound In A Car

Southbound in a car and wondering why.

With an infinite number of destinations and pathways before us, I often wonder why so much of this feels so familiar. The drivers in the cars passing by—and those being passed—wear the same look of routine and recognition. There we all are, moving quickly from one familiar place to another, following well-worn routes toward known destinations. But where is the adventure in that?

I’m so grateful to have been blessed with a curious spirit, a seemingly endless tolerance of being in motion, and a modest distain of routines.

  • Snapshots That Don’t Matter #1

I’m trying all sorts of new things. Most significantly today, I’m trying out a very old thing—a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5. $30 on Amazon got me two new batteries and a charger, all of which have brought new life into this super-small, wildly capable camera. It might just be the camera to stuff in the tiny storage spaces on the front of my motorcycles for those quick-stop, quick-shots, taken from the side of the road!

These photographs were captured using this camera. They are some of the first shots I’ve captured with this camera since about 2010! Crazy.
