An Almost Adventure

Maybe it was a crazy idea like everyone said it was. But sometimes it’s good to do something that seems crazy to everyone else, right? For so long I was oblivious or even afraid to experience my world or go on crazy adventures. I don’t want to hold back anymore. And more importantly, I want my kids to realize that there are lots of interesting things to see and experience and they need to go do it. Even if no one else gets it.

I am not talking about scaling some high peak or anything. I am talking about my daughter’s steadfast desire to go to Carlos Bakery in Hoboken, NJ.  For those of you who do not know, this bakery is best known for its reality show Cake Boss. You see, my daughter is not your typical 11 year old in many ways. She loves show like Cupcake Wars, the various cake challenge shows and, of course, Cake Boss. So on our walkabout to New Jersey for Easter, she requested that we make the trip to Carlos Bakery. It was less than 90 minutes from where we were staying, and while I am nervous about driving in and near the city, I was not shying away from the adventure.
